Chickpea & Potato Patties with Yogurt Sauce
🥣 Ingredients (for 12 patties)
- 240 g (8 3/4 oz) cooked chickpeas
- 240 g (8 3/4 oz) cooked potato (boiled, steamed, or baked)
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 small piece of ginger
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- Black pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 tsp cumin
- A bunch of parsley (chopped)
🥣 Yogurt Sauce
- 1 cup vegan yogurt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Black pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 small grated garlic clove
👨🍳 Instructions
- Mash the cooked chickpeas in a large bowl.
- Mash the cooked potatoes and add them to the bowl with chickpeas.
- Peel and grate the onion, garlic, and a small piece of ginger.
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the grated garlic, ginger, and onion. Cook until golden.
- Add the fried mixture to the bowl with chickpeas and potatoes.
- Season with black pepper, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/3 tsp cumin.
- Chop parsley and add it to the mixture.
- Mix everything well until combined.
- Shape the mixture into patties by hand.
- Heat some olive oil in a pan and cook the patties for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden.
🧄 Yogurt Sauce Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine vegan yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, black pepper, salt, and grated garlic.
- Mix well until smooth.
- Serve alongside the patties.

Serve warm with fresh salad or inside pita bread with the yogurt sauce.
