Your use of Managed Internet Service is subject to Department of Education policies including for staff, the Use of ICT Facilities and Devices Guidelines,, and for students, any policy, statement or guideline about using information technology facilities and devices provided by your school.
When you register for, sign in and use Managed Internet Service, your personal information and other information in your emails and communications, and from your use of the services available through Managed Internet Service, will be transferred to, processed by and stored on equipment owned or controlled by DoE and DoE's third party information technology providers.
Video and audio calls made using conferencing applications, such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom, may be recorded. By participating in a video or audio call that is being recorded, you consent to that call being recorded. You will receive a notification when recording is enabled. If you do not consent to being recorded, you should leave the call.
DoE will collect and handle personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld), the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 (Qld), and Departmental policies. It may collect, use and disclose your personal information and other information in your emails and communications, and from your other use of the services available through Managed Internet Service, as required to provide and improve the Managed Internet Service and education, training and support services to you; for security, technical and troubleshooting purposes; for monitoring compliance with Departmental policies; and as permitted by the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 (Qld). Information will be treated as a public record and will be dealt with as required by laws including the Public Records Act 2002 (Qld) and the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld).
Third party information technology providers have agreed to protect information including by keeping information transferred to, processed by or stored on their equipment secure; to use the information only to provide and improve their services and for security, technical and troubleshooting purposes; to comply with the Information Privacy Principles under the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) where applicable; and to ensure any subcontractors to whom they provide information do the same. Information may be transferred to facilities or support personnel overseas, where it will be held in secure servers subject to the same agreements and to applicable privacy laws and schemes.
Information may also be collected, used or disclosed by DoE or third party information technology providers to the extent authorised or required by law.
